  Trial Lesson

Test out a lesson for any instrument of your choice with a 30-minute trial lesson! This is the perfect opportunity to get familiar with the lesson format, ask the instructor about their teaching methods, and also see if you and your kid are ready for the private music lesson. During this trial lesson, we will gather information about your personality, physical capacity, past learning experiences, and current playing skills to customize lessons to fit your needs best. Additionally, it's an evaluation that helps us match you with the right instructor who can help you reach your goals. The trial lesson costs $37.50 per student and is payable when you book an appointment. Plus, it's limited to only the first lesson of the instrument you select. Click the button below to create your account and start scheduling your trial lesson today!

You'll be guided to the school's scheduling website; please create an account with your and your kid's basic information, and you can select Trail Lessons to see our current available openings. If you cannot find the time that suits your request or have multiple kids, please email us at info@happymindsschoolofmusic.com for help.

Saxophone Class
  Basic Lessons

Happy Minds School Of Music currently offers our students private music instruction for Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, SaxophonesClarinet, Flute, Guitar, UkuleleDrums, and Voice. Private lessons provide students with individualized, 1-on-1, lessons with one of our kid-friendly and musically educated instructors. They are geared towards the specific goals, needs, and aspirations of each student regardless of experience or age.

For new students, we offer an optional individual placement interview to match the student with the right teacher. We also specialize in music lessons for adults. Students will be able to participate in a variety of performance opportunities at our school, including recitals, yearly evaluations, and graded examinations, which provide students with varied opportunities to show their skills and talents. Private lessons include 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. Each lesson provides comprehensive music education that includes playing, technique, and theory.

   Music Theory Classes

The study of music theory provides the essential foundation for a deeper understanding of music as a language.  It complements the study of music performance so that students can learn to listen and speak, and not merely "pronounce," the language of music through the instrument. At Happy Minds, music theory courses are taught based on the syllabus of Royal Conservatory Achievement Programs with 10 levels of core classes. The sooner students begin to acquire this essential knowledge, the better they will be able to understand and appreciate the music they are playing. Basic theory courses are open to students ages 6 and older. Slightly younger students may be accepted into the program based on their teacher’s recommendation.

 Ensemble

Ensembles are a great way to learn to perform classical music.  It is almost equivalent to playing rock music in a band. We encourage all of our students to participate in the Ensemble Program to experience the beauty of performing and making music in a group setting.  Ensembles encourage interaction between students and foster teamwork among the performers. We integrated the ensemble programs into our monthly membership rates. Therefore, the students can enjoy comprehensive musical programs at affordable rates. The students are evaluated through an audition process and matched up with other students of the same skill level.  Once placed in groups, students will learn to perform music with other students of similar levels and ages.  The program is open to violin, viola, cello, piano, guitar, vocal, saxophone, clarinet, and flute students.

Rock Band

At HMSM, we strongly encourage our students to supplement their private lessons with our group lesson program. Students of similar ages and skill levels are placed in bands composed of peers. We also allow existing bands to sign up as a group and receive coaching from our professional musicians! Through the band program, students take part in weekly jam sessions and practice songs together; each band decides on the songs and genres they want to work on. Plus, they get the opportunity to compose their own tunes and make their album! Bands are also given a chance to perform in public, so they can gain experience in front of live crowds and learn what it's like to play at local music venues.
