Ms. Denise

A versatile pianist and dedicated educator, Denise Ng holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance from the University of British Columbia. Her comprehensive musical journey began with formative studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and the Vancouver Academy of Music, where she was honored with numerous awards and scholarships, including the prestigious Grace Wong Scholarship and the Enid & Clem Williams Memorial Scholarship. Demonstrating early achievement, Denise earned her ARCT in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She gained invaluable guidance from esteemed mentors such as Katherine Huang, Saida Matyukov, Professor Lee Kum-Sing, and Dr. Henri-Paul Sicsic, and further refined her artistry through masterclasses with distinguished pianists Seymour Lipkin and Jerome Lowenthal. Denise's performance accolades include being a national finalist at the Canadian Music Competitions and recognition at the Pacific Piano Competitions and various British Columbia Lower Mainland music festivals. With over 20 years of experience providing personalized instruction in piano and music theory, her teaching is shaped by her Music Together training, fostering musical growth. Beyond her teaching, Denise is an active performer in solo and chamber ensembles, a skilled accompanist, and enjoys playing the violin, harpsichord, and organ, with past involvement in the UBC Symphony Orchestra.
