By participating in our ensembles, you can forge new friendships, gain valuable teamwork experience for your college applications, acquire new skills, and display your talent to your loved ones. String Chamber Music

For Grades 5 to 12

Chamber music study develops leadership, interpersonal skills, and critical thinking, and challenges students to incorporate soloistic playing in an ensemble setting. Students will be placed in an ensemble following the placement audition. New and returning chamber music students must attend placement. Private study at the Preparatory is not a prerequisite for acceptance.

Music Matters Jazz Camp

For Grades 5 to 12
 

 

Students will enjoy a deep dive into jazz improvisation, music theory, music production, & history while receiving small group instruction in a jazz combo or a group jazz piano class. Classes include small group combo playing, improvisation & music theory, electronic music production & recording, group piano class, Brazilian samba percussion ensemble, and more!

Rock & Pop Band
Make Your Own Recording

For Grades 5 to 12

At this music production camp, students will be assigned to a group that is appropriate for their ages. They can try their hand at different instruments in a rock band, learn how to write a song, and learn how to make their own music. Additionally, our experienced instructors will offer tips on setting up gigs, building a fan base through social media and streaming services, and how to compile your first press kit. This press kit will include high-resolution images and an impressive one-sheet that showcases your talent. Upon completion of the camp, you'll leave with a studio-mastered demo track to include in your professional press kit.
