Incremental improvements can lead to big changes in the future so finding what motivates students to succeed is integral to her methods of instruction.

Clarinet, Saxophone and Flute Instructor

Nate

Nate is a California native and have been playing the clarinet since the age of 10.  Over the ensuing years I have performed in many distinct middle school, high school and college ensembles, including the Santa Rosa High School Symphonic Band, Marin Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the University of Washington wind/percussion bands (Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble).  Nate also worked as a Counselor in Training at Cazadero Music Camp after being a camper there for 4 summers."Nate believes that teaching any subject, including music, must involve not only the presentation of information but also integrating that information into a storyline or context relevant to students' lives.  This helps students see why the information is worth learning and can provide inspiration for students to learn more material on their own.  Education is, after all, a lifelong process, so helping a student want to learn material to satisfy curiosity is just as important as all the material Nate can present.  Nate will evaluate students' current playing ability and then assign lesson material at the appropriate level for each student.
