She also studied with Ying Wu, Williard Schutz, and Antonio Pompa-Baldi in masterclass and summer camps. Dr. Zhang got a great passion for studying piano performance skills and piano pedagogies; she won the Gold Medal Award at Bach Festival, Seattle International Piano Festival, and the Best Performance Award at the Third Internationaler Deutscher irmler-Klavierwettbewerb competition. She also won the Excellent Teacher Award at The Fourth KAWAI Asian Piano Competition.

Dr. Guqi takes a holistic approach to teach and sees it as her responsibility to get to know each student on an individual basis, help them discover who they are through music and piano playing, develop their personalities, gain confidence, and inspire perseverance in whatever career path they decide to pursue. She finds it simple to teach and play the piano with genuine love. Instead of just getting by in class, she loves to inspire her students to embrace all the incredible advantages that studying music has to offer for personal and professional development. Additionally, she believes that through teaching piano, her students will become more self-aware, allowing them to take a more optimistic and confident attitude toward themselves.
